      actually they are called zampopas (leaf cutter ants). they do sell a pelleted form of fungicide for zampopas. the pellets are green and the ants mistaken them for leaves. it is best to place the pellets on their paths not to far from the nest. they then carry the pellets over to their underground nests. the minumus ants in the nest then chew up the pellets mix it with their saliva and feces and place it out on the fungus they are growing. the fungus is grown as their food source. the chewed up pellets kill the fungus they are growing and the whole colony starves to death. dogs normally will not eat these pellets unless your dog is an herbivore that only eats leaves.
