Some maps do not show Puriscal or it may be displayed as Santiago or
the complete name Santiago de Puriscal. It is located between San
Jose and the Pacific Ocean. Find Escazu, Santa Ana, Ciudad Colon on
your map. Continue on the route westward past Cd. Colon and your
next town over high mountain passes will be Puriscal. You can take a
bus from Coca Cola Bus Station in San Jose to Puriscal. It takes
about 40 minutes. I did it and it was great. Many Ticos live in
Puriscal and commute to San Jose to work by bus. It is a popular,
well-travelled route. A gringo presence has begun to develop in
Puriscal. It is a nice town with banks, grocery stores, hardware,
building materials, auto repair, etc. Many residents both Tico and
      Gringo are horse enthusiasts.
