      Hi,

      I visually observed C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) in the pre-dawn sky this morning (in Scorpius). I also took some images through a 41cm f5.2 Newtonian with an STL11000M CCD – 15 x 1 minute subs, clear filter, 1x1.

      OBSERVATION -

      C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) -
      2013 Jan. 09.62 UT: m1 = 8.1, Dia.= 3', DC = 5, Tail = 2' in PA of 283˚, 41cm L (59x)...John Drummond, (Gisborne, New Zealand) [Comet PANSTARRS easy to see. Nice coma and short tail. Comparison stars - TYC 7889197 (7.95), TYC 789365 (8.55). Comet 13 degrees altitude in the SE. Clear, no Moon, dark sky.]
