      Hi all,

I imaged C/2007 W1 (Boattini) this morning (2008 June Saturday 28.70 UT) - it's currently rising about 4 hours before the Sun in the east for New Zealand. I've finally got myself a new focuser for the 16" (after a year) so that I can now get back into cometography - it's from Moonlite focusers and it works beautifully...

Boattini was imaged with my 16" (41cm) @ f5.2 Meade Newtonian and an SBIG STL11000M CCD. I took one minute sublights - 16 x lum (1x1), 8 x rgb (2x2), camera set to -30*C. I median combined it to help bring out the ion tail, but the stars are almost gone. North = down, East = right. FOV = ~0.9d x 0.6d - the tail is a little over 0.5 degrees in length. Slight moonlight/twilight interference.
