      Welcome Jean-Louis!

Delighted that you chose our group and please feel free to chat and
discuss SAAB combat aircraft as much as you like. Here, as long as
the subject is combat aircraft you're welcome to share and contribute.

Pleaes excuse the rather late greetings but what with the
Thanksgiving holiday and all I've been somewhat preoccupied.

I think we all have a favorite aircraft, favorite military aircraft
organization and a favorite manufacturer. Well SAABs are excellant
aircraft and are more than a match to anyone else's frontline
aircraft. The Ja-39 Gripen attest to the quality of SAAB engineering.
I think of all the SAAB combat aircraft my personal favorite is the
Viggen with the Draken running a close second BUT my all-time
favorite (as the other members can tell you) will always be the
General Dynamics F-106A/B Delta Dart! A fighter-interceptor that was
      decades ahead of its time.

AGain Welcome to the group and next time you write please tell us
exactly what features of SAAB combat aircraft you find most
      outstanding???

      Happy Flying!

Perhaps you can fill us in on some of what SAAB contributed to the JSF and
the Eurofighter projects. I am afraid that the contributions of each of the
countries has been rather understated and not being a specialist in that
area of aviation I am a bit curious. I know that SAAB made contributions
just not what kind. I have speculated upon Frances contribution to the Euro
as being the wing. They seem to have a great deal invested in the delta wing
shape and the EuroFighter seems to carry that idea through. SAAB does make a
great aircraft with many great innovations, it may not be the largest
company but it is certainly one of the great ones.

        Keep 'em Flying
