Climate Change Goes Underground

The authors of this article unfortunately missed the most important point in trying to see what will happen to groundwater aquifers with climate change - i.e. that increasing rainfall intensity will increase the percent of rainfall going to surface runoff and will decrease the percent of rainfall going to aquifers used for water supply.
Rainfall intensity, seasonal precipitation type, soils, state of vegetation and land use all need attention in assessing the impacts of climate change on ground water supplies.
