      If cars start running on compressed air which is an expensive form of electricity, imagine how many more power plants US and other countries would require to meet that additional gigantic demand for electricity. And majority of those plants are likely to be coal fired and the green house gas emissions and global warming problems would further aggravate. Even plugin hybrid cars also would cause similar problems. I do not understand why US government is preferring pluin hybrids to replace the petrol / diesel driven cars. The ideal solution would be remove oxygen from the water and use thus obtained hydrogen for powering the cars. But isn't it easier said than done?
