Group Description

A Circle of Friends is an Interspiritual Mindfulness Meditation and Study Group that offers sitting practice in the style of Nobel Peace Prize Nominee Thich Nhat Hanh. We study and discuss teachings from all spiritual paths and traditions.

A few of the teachers we have read and discussed are Thomas Merton (Trappist Monk and Mystic); Wayne Teasdale (Catholic Monk and Mystic as well as a Christian Sannyasi, i.e., a Christian monk in the East Indian monastic tradition); and Thich Nhat Hanh (Mystic, Zen Master, Teacher, and Poet). We also enjoy the teachings of Edgar Cayce, Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Pema Chodron, Gary Zukav, Wayne Dyer, and David St. Clair.

At various times throughout the month, we sit in Healing Circle and/or Dream Circle.

The mindfulness bell sounds at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at The Morgan House (Living Room) (to your left as you drive into the parking lot, and across the parking lot from the main sanctuary building). First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1808 Woodmont Blvd, Nashville, Tennessee 37215.

Meditation attendance is free. Dana (donation) is lovingly accepted to help us pay rent on our sitting space.
