Warmley Independant methodist Chapel
- Hello Phil,
on my way to a new years party last night I actually discovered a Victorian church that I haven't seen before so am well pleased. It also belongs to an unusual denomination.
It is in MIll lane - the road opposite the methodist church which has been converted into flats. The Independant methodist chapel here I think is Mid 19th century and is on an elevated site and of quite an unusual design. I will try and take a picture of it at some point. It is in the debassed classical style I think although it was dark and more in the early meeting house style - i.e. with double rows of windows. Would thisone be eligible for the Bristol Independant Methodist Page? I suspect that this chapel was built for the miners and other industrialists in the area - it is quite a way from any other Victorian buildings although it is now surrounded by modern housing.
Also do you remember I lent you a picture of the Lancet style chapel in Kingswood owned by the Independant Methodists? Did you find out where abouts it stood and whether infact it has been demolished. I keep looking for it but can't find it anywhere.
