Will the next Pope be Peter the Roman as supposedly predicted by St Malachy a medieval cabbalist and Irish priest? Many say he foretold all the popes that would exist from Celestine in 1130 AD to the time of Christ. Many says these writings languished in the Vatican archives until 1590, when they are published by Arnold de Wyon. The fascinating thing is that some take this as proof of the work of God in Catholic history. Others, no doubt take it as an example of self fulfilling prophecy.
