Welcome to The "APPLAUSE" Radio Show...Playlist 4/18/02
- Hi there lovers of A cappella Music,
Some of you are receiving this for the first time as a result your involvement with the International Barbershop Harmony Society. We appreciate all of the hard work you do for the International, District and Division level committes and chapters within the Society.
As much as we try and promote the show, many, MANY of you still do not know about The "APPLAUSE" Show, a weekly radio show that brings our local (Montclair, NJ) and our Internet audiences 4 1/2 hours a cappella music every Thursday night from 6:30-11:00pm Eastern Time. We play great barbershop, vocal jazz, mixed harmony, contemporary a cappella and even some "Off the wall" songs from groups known more for their a cappella harmonies.
This month, the show celebrated it's 5th Anniversary on the air. The "APPLAUSE" Team, myself, Rich Pearson from CASA fame (New Jersey's Ambassador) and T. J. Barranger, the director of the "Somertones" Chorus of barbershop note continues in our commitment to bring you the very best from the libraries of WVRM Radio, 1620AM, and on the Net at www.villageradio.com.
East week, I review for you the selections and/or the theme with selections for what was played on the air the previous Thursday. It gives you an idea of what we played, but more importantly, tells you some of the great songs recorded by all of our wonderful groups the perform in the world of a cappella and barbershop harmony.
If your group has a recording that you would like played on The "APPLAUSE" Show, please email the show at applause@..., and we will send you the "Guidelines for Submitting Music To The "APPLAUSE" Show". It outlines the requirements and policies regarding new music to the show.
