      Job Description


      The TXGA Technology Director is the officer assigned the primary responsibility of overseeing the Association's website for functionality. In addition, certain editorial and moderator duties also fall under the Technology Director's purview.

      The Technology Director is largely influential in proper implementation of all forums, emails and website administration. This position controls the Associations most accessible asset, the website. TXGA.net sits at the frontline of the public's contact with the Association and thus, greatly affects the Public's perception, trust, and understanding of the Texas Geocaching Association.

      The Technology Director duties include:

      •Website maintence– Includes interfacing with the internet provider and managing all licenses, software, etc. as needed in order to maintain the current level of service
      •Creating and/or maintaining all TXGA online resources. This authority includes all websites, social media pages, and online accounts belonging to TXGA.
      •Moderating all TXGA communities
      •Responsible for managing the technological means in which the TXGA Council Board and its subordinates communicate.
      •Work with the Executive Council and the rest of the Board Members to assess and respond to the technology needs of the TXGA
      •Manage and provide guidance to the other forum moderators
      •Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to the existing technology
      •Maintain security and privacy of the information systems, communication lines, and equipment.
      •Develop, review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
      •MANAGEMENT SKILLS sound judgment; initiative; flexibility; detail-oriented documented working experience with desktop software.
