Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, a burger in one hand, a beer in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I am so excited to be a member of the 254 Club!!  I am a native Texan and felt it my duty to see every inch of it.  When Blizzard pointed to this challenge cache for me in 2006 I decided then that I would be completing it.  There are too many cachers to name to thank for hides that made completing the challenge possible, but I am grateful for all their efforts!  However, I have a list of cachers to thank for helping me get large groups of counties done on trips specifically planned for the purpose of the challenge:  I started the county challenge with mda_taz and completed more than 80% of Texas with him.  The Outlaw and Moosiegirl took a Thanksgiving trip with us that helped us knock out southeast Texas.  Doc Geo and wife took an MLK Day long weekend with us that we used to get all counties in the valley.  And Rilekyle helped me clean up the panhandle this past Easter.  Thanks to all the finishers who offered advice and encouragement, especially Blizzard, Enduroking, and Rilekyle.  Completing this challenge, though gruelling at times, gave me 254 more reasons to love my home state!  I saw some things that I'm not sure I would have pressed to go see were geocaching not involved.  And just when I thought I found the most beautiful parts of Texas another area would surprise me with its beauty.  Thanks M-T-P for setting up the challenge and thanks Alan for continuing its traditions!  (pics later when I'm back from vacation)
