Where have the parties been held in the past?

      Hi Opalberry,
I've done one of the geocaching sessions at the downtown REI, and their room is basically a staff training room that you have to go through a storage room to reach.  I think it would be ok for some limited technical type events, but not necessarily for social things.  The one plus might be that it has more available hours than library meeting rooms.  Because we'll have a ton of people at the Christmas Party, it wouldn't work there.

Keep it in mind for future things, though!

      Cheers,

I wasn't suggesting it for the party - you are right, it is way too open.
But for a clinic of some sort it would be perfect.

That's out in the open and everyone who shops has to go through it.
Our Parties are MUCH too boisterous, I think, for that location.

        Your mileage may differ.

The Round Rock store also allows groups to use the meeting space on their
        mezzanine level.

Babies are great (they just started crawling this last couple of weeks), Mom, Dad, and big sister are getting a workout chasing them down.

Unfortunately, they eliminate pretty much any chance I have for caching, so I have to plan opportunistic caches around my work errands, or arrange a caching day with my GS troop.  Luckily, the girls really enjoyed their first outing (thanks for all those caches in Hutto, Esther!), so we'll do it again in the spring.
