We have an offer to have a "Cave Talk" from the Texas Cave
Conservancy, to be arranged via our fellow geocacher George
Nincehelser. Would someone like to volunteer to set up an event
cache, say mid-April? (that avoids conflict with the two big state
events end of March and 1st week of April, but keeps it from being
too soon.) I think it would be very interesting to hear about the
cave and karst formations in Central Texas, especially those that
might be encountered while geocaching, but also the ones that are
being protected and/or restored by the conservancy. What do you guys
think? Any other ideas for "programs" that you want to throw out?

I will be glad to help with an event, but having done 3 of the last 4
I would like to give someone else a chance to step up to the plate as
      host.

      Thanks and Happy Trails,
      Candy

I'm thinking about getting some personalized cache
items to leave in caches. Right now I'm really leaning
towards poker chips. They are alot like geocoins but
without the cost. One place I'm looking at could do
them at a cost of $129 for the first 100 then $34 per
100 after that. For that you get poker chips in 1 of
10 different colors printed with a custom logo on one
side and the other side blank. On the custom side I'm
working on a design that will incorporate the GX logo.
I would leave the other side blank so that team
stickers could be applied to the center. If I can find
three of four other teams to each buy 100 we can get
        the cost around $.50/ea.
The chips I'm looking at are here
        <http://casinosupply.com/cgi-bin/miva?Merchant2/merchant.mv+Screen=PROD&Store_Code=C&Product_Code=90-70XX&Category_Code=UC>
You'd be able to pick whatever color you'd like for
your team. I'd suggest each team pick their own color
for ease of distiguishing one from the other but
        that's not necessary.

If anyone would be interested, let me know and I'll
        get an order together.

        Tony

Also, what GX design are you thinking about?

You wouldn't have to pay that $65 fee again as they'll
keep the plates on file for future use.

As far as the GX logo, I'm looking at using a
variation on the logos found here
            http://bytethebullet.com/geologo/leatherman__variants.htm
I'd put 'geocaching' above it and I haven't decided
what to put below. I'm looking for suggestions.
