Many thanks to Julie (Mrs. Captain Picard) for tracking down a
location that would meet the unique needs for the fun new format she's
The Challenge will take place on the weekend of March 13th - 15th.
The home base for the weekend's activities will be the lovely Lady
Bird Johnson Municipal Park in Fredericksburg:

They're being very flexible on accomodations and will work with us to
get as many people on-site as possible. One area where things may be
a little tight is for RV campers. They do have an RV park, but have
lots of "Winter Texans" who may be taking up the spots. If you're
interested in an RV spot, you should make your reservation as soon as
The park staff told us that if an RV is completely self-contained and
you don't mind parking on the park road, you can camp there instead of
an official spot. (keep that in mind if you go to book and the park
For tent campers, they have a series of campsites, but will let us
camp in a couple of open fields, so we should be able to get a spot
There aren't any screened shelters at the park, so if the tent or RV
is too rough for you, there are numerous hotels and bed and breakfast
spots in Fredericksburg.

Be sure to let them know you're coming for the geocaching event. It
won't get you a discount, but knowing we're all together will help.
Look for a planning event to be posted shortly where we'll be looking
for volunteers to help organize this great event!!!
