Group Description

Celts In Space: The List. We're a discussion list with varied and wide-ranging interests. Whether you'd like to discuss books, music, or history, or maybe share your favorite shortbread recipe, you'll probably find someone here who'd be happy to talk to you.

If it's books, you might want to discuss Celtic themes in Science Fiction & Fantasy. Whether Arthurian legend, or authors like Patricia Kennealy Morrison, Charles DeLint, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Diana Paxon, Morgan Llywelyn, Rosalind Miles, and Jack Whyte.

In music, anything goes: Silly Wizard, Capercaillie, Connie Dover, Tempest, Anuna, Loreena McKennitt, Wolfstone, The Ennis Sisters, Natalie MacMaster, Great Big Sea, The Poozies, Battlefield Band, Altan, Riverdance, De Dannan, Clannad. Of course if it isn't listed, it doesn't mean you can't discuss it! (I figure the list description should probably be kept under novel length!)

This is also the place to discuss the latest Highland games, that great concert, or Country dance, you attended last weekend. Or maybe you just need an understanding group to share your love of bagpipes with - not to mention haggis

We're also interested in the history, archaeology & culture of Scotland, Ireland, Brittany, & Wales. As well as how those traditions translated into the New World in places like Nova Scotia & North Carolina, amongst others.

So of you're of Scots, Irish, Welsh, or any other Celtic origin (or even if you're just an interested party), you may want to give us a try!

We look forward to chatting with you!
