Group Description

"Prayer is the raising of one's mind and heart to God or the requesting of good things from God" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2559).

Our community of Catholic Home Educators has formed a Prayer Chain. A prayer chain is a way for people to gain assistance in prayer for special times or need and/or to offer thanksgivings. It is also a way for anyone to act on God’s command to love one another (John 13:34-35).

The Prayer Chain is made up of members of our community (of Catholic Home Educators) who pray for the intentions of other members and their family/friends. The Prayer Chain works via e-mail, so members simply receive a prayer request and pray for that intention.

You can participate in the Catholic Home Educator’s Prayer Chain in two ways: by signing up to be one of our prayer partners and/or by submitting a prayer request. Both of these can be done through our e-loop, or directly through gelfamily@att.net/209.957.5946. Whether you telephone or email, the process can be anonymous: no names are required. Just leave enough information for Prayer Chain members to identify your intention in their prayers. Every Friday, the list of prayer requests will be sent to our prayer partners. Urgent prayer requests will be sent as needed.

Our members appreciate being able to serve and be a blessing to others through one of the greatest gifts we have been given - prayer!

"When we share in God's saving love, we understand that every need can become the object of petition. Christ, who assumed all things in order to redeem all things, is glorified by what we ask the Father in his name. It is with this confidence that St. James and St. Paul exhort us to pray at all times" (CCC, 2633).
