This says it all, really; it would be very pleasant for us to continue sharing our sources of information, as we already do; to discuss and ask questions about all the castrati in their historical contexts, and to find out about new ones in the distant past ! Not a paradox !
There is so much to find out and so much we do not know, and, as I once said, rummage in your attics and cellars for early recordings of Moreschi's voice, other than those already remastered; even a chance of Mustafa having recorded (!!); pictures of homes of the castrati; their letters, and even their handwriting !!
All information very welcome.
An hearty appreciation of the contributons of all our members; and welcome to you all, here, as you join.

UPDATED NOTE - June 2005
This mailing list, originally created by the late Elsa Scammell, an expert
in Castrati History, is dedicated to the sharing of historical information
about singing castrati of all ages, from antiquity to our own days, with
a special focus on baroque castrati and the Sistine Chapel castrati of the
beginnings of the 20th century (Moreschi, Mustafà...)
Topics directly related to castrati (history, art, singing, society) are
welcome, but any other area will be considered "Off Topic". OT posts will
be warned on list. After three OT by the same author, the author will be put on moderation.
Moderators are free to warn subscribers when s/he considers that the
discussion is going towards Off Topic areas in an excessive way.
Off-Topic posts may be used to give examples which might lend weight to an
argument, although further exploration of an off-topic example must occur
off-list. In this way, medical examples may be given, as long as the thread turns immediately back to topic.
Thank you for your kind attention!
