Group Description

This site is designed to keep edible food out of landfills. Here are some basic guidelines.

If I remove something that you think has a good reason to be here, let me know. This is a service to the community, not a dictatorship. However, I reserve the right to use my best judgement.

Keep it "Free, Legal & Appropriate for All Ages" otherwise have fun.

Basic posting format which is:
OFFER: Item
WANTED: Item
TAKEN: Item
Event: Upcoming Event

This site should keep all items Free, no spam or politics are allowed, and the goal of the group is to reduce landfill waste by sharing food items with your neighbors instead of simply throwing them away.

Also, please post events, such as 'food not bombs' and local potlucks, or events with free food. The events must be open to the public, or already have occurred i.e. a business lunch that is over, but has a lot left over. We don't want to crash someone's wedding.

Please keep in mind that trading food stamps is illegal.

Also, please try to limit post to EDIBLE food. Giving out stale bread as bird feed, or moldy food as compost is fine, but for human consumption it is insulting.

If you are in desperate need of a necessary item, i.e. Food, infant formula, blankets, diapers, toiletries, please email me and I will do what I can (please keep in mind I am low on funds, but no one should go hungry or freeze in a country of plenty). Also if you have extenuating circumstances, such as a disability, a new baby, or being a single mom, please let it be known in your posts and replies, so that priority can be given.

Thank you for visiting this site and I hope everyone has a great time.
