According to this mornings PI, it's official; last month's idea about
cutting passenger service is now being called an announcement. It looks
like walkers and bikers will not be allowed to ride ferries in Washington in
6 months. This announcement is made in a long article about the new food
service and benefits to ferry riders. Mmmmmm, I can't wait to breathe the
even filthier air from the extra hundreds of cars that people will be forced
to bring and drive to Seattle.

      quotes....
"Doing that means making cuts, such as last month's announcement the ferry
service will stop running passenger-only ferries between Seattle and Vashon
      Island and Bremerton in June

But beyond catering to riders, Thorne also wants to make the terminal a
place to go, even if you're not on your way someplace else. He's exploring
the idea of a fancy restaurant or a bar where the ferries now have
      administrative offices."
