- Hey everyone
My name Tennyson, i'm 20, i live Ontario. I've been a
atheist ever since i realized that most literal information found in
the bible is a load of bull(the fact that i realized this at 12
says a lot about the transparence of the "good book").
It's a crutch for those who are to lazy to try and discover why
things happen. It's a excuse to persicute and oppress, to war, to
kill("Holy wars" ect.) I started as a christian, i looked alot of
other religions and came to the conclusion that i don't want to be
the follower of any god that would want me to worship him. If you
think about it only insane people make "lesser" things worship them,
and if a deity is so vane or selfconscious that he/she/it needs
worshipers then it isn't worthy of my devotion.
That left me with a bit of a dilema... if i don't have faith in
god, where do i put my faith? The human race. look at all that we
have accomplished through arts and science. Even though things
aren't perfect, we are trying to make them so.
More about me: i'm a realist, i see both the optimist and
pessimist side of things, i have a open mind about almost anything
and am tolerant of other people's beliefs (i've read a few messages
in here and think that tolerance of the differences between people
is a major problem in our society) anyway i figured i'd introduce
myself and leave you with this one thought from a very inteligent
and wise man...
"The difference between genius and stupidity it that genius
has it's limits"-Albert Einstien
