  • I would not use silcone in side where it may clog a oil passage. The screen would be for big things so a tight fit may not be important.Epoxy maybe .But if it can,t go anywhere, like into the pump.I would not worry about it.I saw a old caddy in a shop that just had its engine done.It was makeing noise so they pull the pan and the new bearings were ruined. The crank grinder had not...

  • The key switch on cars break pretty often. You have to replace the switch. When you have a lot of keys on the key ring the weight of the keys brake the switch.Try holding your key on the end that goes in the switch and you will feel the weight of a key ring with lots of keys on it. --- Ryan Stockreef wrote: > Hi, I have a 1991 Eldorado and the battery died. • Don,t worry about the thickness, also where the shoes rub on the backing plate,as they move in and out,you want to put some anti seaze or a lite film of grease. So you don,t wear a groove in the backing plate and have the shoes hang up.It will keep the parking brake from freezeing up if it sits for a long time. --- bill lutzius wrote: > The shorter shoe is the forward one...

  • The cars without a smog pump may have come from outside california, which is where i am.But i see them every now and then at the junk yard. But they have a can for vapors from the gas.Behind the drivers headlight i think.Looks like a old coffee can with hoses going back to the gas tank.So maybe this was used instead of a smog pump. These cars were 69 or 70. --- ronhammer2000 wrote...

  • Some cars didn,t have the smog pump.So you can replace the water pump and crank pullys with ones from a non pump car.I did this ,no problem.Mine is a 69 deville, and i found the pullys on a 69 or 70 car.So i don,t know why some have a smog pump and some don,t.But the nice thing about junking the pump is that when the smog pump fails it stops the water pump, very bad.So if you have...
