POETRY AWARDS AND READINGS CEREMONY
Winners will receive their awards and read their winning entries at the
Awards Ceremony. Acclaimed poet, Tyehimba Jess, will read his work and discuss the
public role of poetry at the Awards Ceremony.

The IUPUI Office of Academic Affairs and the IU School of Liberal Arts invite high school students to participate in the IUPUI Poetry Contest
Submit your poem for a chance to win:
First Prize: $200

Submit entries at
First through fourth place winners are eligible to receive a $1500 travel abroad scholarship upon enrollment at IUPUI. All poetry contest applicants may receive additional scholarships upon being admitted to IUPUI based upon their academic and financial aid qualifications.
All entries must be submitted online at poetry.iupui.edu. Only electronic entries will be accepted. The deadline for receipt of entries is always 5 p.m. EST on May 31. Entries received after this date will be considered for the next year's contest.
Contestant must be a high school student or a home-schooled student of high school age.
Contestants may submit only one poem.
All poems submitted must be in English.
Poems are restricted to 50 lines. Poems longer than 50 lines will be disqualified.
Please do not put your name or any other identifying information on the poem.
Submit your poem. Entry deadline is May 31st, 2011, at 5:00 P.M. EST
