      AWARDS AND PRIZES
      Prize winners will be eligible for significant tuition scholarships upon
      enrolling at IUPUI.
      First Place Winner         $200
      Second Place Winner       $100
      Third Place Winner        $50
      4 Fourth Place Winners    $25
      25 Honorable Mentions    $10 gift card

      POETRY AWARDS AND READINGS CEREMONY
      Winners will receive their awards and read their winning entries at the
      Awards Ceremony.  Acclaimed poet, Tyehimba Jess, will read his work and discuss the
      public role of poetry at the Awards Ceremony.

      Saturday, March 29, 2008
      Where:
      IUPUI Campus Center, Rm. 405
      420 University Blvd
      Indianapolis, IN 46202

      Time:
      Check-In: 12:30 p.m.
      Ceremony Begins: 1:00 p.m.
      Program Ends: 3:00 p.m
      Parking:
      Guest parking for the Campus Center is available in the Vermont Street Garage
      (1004 W Vermont Street). There are two (2) second floor entrances to the
      Campus Center from the Vermont Street Garage.

      Rules: 
      Contestant must be a high school student or a home-schooled student of high
      school age
      Only one poem per contestant may be submitted
      Deadline — Monday, February 4, 2008
      Entry must be in English
      Poem must be 25 lines or fewer
      No E-mail or fax submissions will be accepted
      Only winners will be notified by mail
      The judges regret that they cannot return or comment on individual poems

      You will be required to attach an electronic copy of your poem (MS Word
      preferred). Please make sure the electronic document contains your poem and its
      title only. On-line entries must be submitted by Monday, February 4, 2008.

        Submit your poem for a chance to win:

        First Prize: $200

        First through fourth place winners are eligible to receive a $1500 travel abroad scholarship upon enrollment at IUPUI. All poetry contest applicants may receive additional scholarships upon being admitted to IUPUI based upon their academic and financial aid qualifications.

        All entries must be submitted online at poetry.iupui.edu. Only electronic entries will be accepted. The deadline for receipt of entries is always 5 p.m. EST on May 31. Entries received after this date will be considered for the next year's contest.

        Rules
        Contestant must be a high school student or a home-schooled student of high school age.
        Contestants may submit only one poem.
        All poems submitted must be in English.
        Poems are restricted to 50 lines. Poems longer than 50 lines will be disqualified.
        Please do not put your name or any other identifying information on the poem.
        Submit your poem. Entry deadline is May 31st, 2011, at 5:00 P.M. EST
