      Franklin Pierce University-the College at Rindge invites applications for an
      Assistant Professor position in English-Creative Writing/Composition to begin
      Fall 2008. We seek an individual with primary expertise in the writing of
      poetry and poetics and secondary expertise in the writing of fiction/nonfiction.
      The ideal candidate has an established national reputation; significant
      publications; and demonstrated excellence in teaching poetry at the
      college/university level. Candidate will teach a combination of creative writing courses and
      first-year general-education writing courses in a 4/4 annual course load as well
      as advise students in the English major.

      The successful candidate will also teach in the University's Integrated Core
      Curriculum on the Individual & Community, advise students, contribute to
      college service, and maintain a program of scholarly/creative work in
      English-Creative Writing. Prior successful college teaching experience is required, as is a
      demonstrable commitment to undergraduate education and learning in a liberal
      arts environment. A terminal degree from an accredited institution is required
      -- a PhD with creative dissertation is preferred; an MFA will be considered.

      a letter of application; curriculum vitae; contact information for three
      references; copies of transcripts (unofficial are acceptable at this stage); a
      statement of teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching effectiveness.

      Interviews will be conducted at the 2008 AWP Conference on Thursday or Friday
