The The Skagit River Poetry Foundation has announced a new Phyllis L. Ennes Poetry Contest open to all Pacific Northwest poets, from Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, and Montana.   Renowned national poet Ellen Bass will serve as judge of the contest, which honors the powerful Northwest arts advocate Ennes, who died earlier this year. Poets are asked to submit three previously unpublished works to skagitcontestATgmailDOTcom. Be sure to include contact information  in a cover letter: your name, your home address, your email, and your phone number. Unlimited submissions. There is a reading fee of $15 for each three poem submission.

Make checks payable to SRPF, PO Box 238, La Conner, WA, 98257. Deadline: October 15, 2013. The winner, to be announced in April 2014, will be invited to join the lineup of the May 2014 Skagit River Poetry Festival and will have his/her poem published in the festival’s anthology.
