The 2013 Texas Observer Short Story Contest is open for submissions.
The winning writer receives $1,000 and publication in the 2013 Books
Issue. This year's guest judge is Dagoberto Gilb (Before the End, After
the Beginning). The contest is open to any and all participants
regardless of location. There are no restrictions on genre or theme.
(i.e., you need not be a Texan or write about Texas.) Four finalists
will be eligible for online publication. Word count max: 2,500. Entry
