- ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE ENGLISH PROFESSOR (CREATIVE WRITING)

The Department of Language and Literature is currently seeking applications for a full time, non-tenure tract Assistant or Associate English Professor to begin August 2013. The position is for a nine-month appointment.
Minimum Qualifications: A terminal degree (Ph.D.) in English from a regionally accredited institution is required. Applicants with significant education and/or experience related to teaching creative writing may be considered. Official copies of college transcripts must be on file by the appointment date for the successful candidate selected. Teaching experience, service, and record of scholarly activity appropriate to the rank is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities: A dynamic individual to teach core undergraduate courses in English and Humanities. Areas of specialization are open although priority will be given to individuals who can teach writing and rhetoric in addition to creative writing. In addition to teaching, the position entails undergraduate student advising; active participation on department, college and university committees; service learning/internship activities; and active involvement in scholarly activities such as publishing and obtaining grants. Other duties may be assigned for future promotion and tenure.
