      Position Description ENGLISH - Full-time Lecturer in the English Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California, to begin September 16, 2013. One year appointment with the possibility of an extension to a second year. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Duties and responsibilities include teaching two junior-level classes in fiction writing each term as well as freshman composition. M.F.A. in creative writing required; Ph.D. in creative writing strongly preferred. Successful teaching record in both fiction writing and composition courses as well as a publication record of fiction in national journals and/or magazines required.

      Required Qualifications / Specialized Skills M.F.A. in creative writing, successful teaching record in both fiction writing and composition courses, as well as a publication record of fiction in national journals and/or magazines are required.
      Preferred Qualifications / Skills Ph.D. in creative writing strongly preferred.
      Special Conditions (Staff) The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
