      Basic Function:
      Manage and coordinate the activities of the Wick Poetry Center that support the Center's programming, outreach and communications initiatives. Reports to the Director, Wick Poetry Center.

      Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
      Assist the Director with planning and implementing all programs and events including but not limited to the Annual Reading Series, scholarship competitions, book competitions, the Traveling Stanzas Community Arts Project, Speak Peace, and special projects.

      Coordinate all in-house public relations, communications and marketing endeavors of the center; tasks for which include, but are not limited to the following: writing press releases; coordinating social media marketing; developing relationships with local print, television, radio and online media sources; creating or supervising the creation of print and online marketing materials such as fliers, posters, hot cards, print and online magazine and journal advertisements; and supervising all teams of student workers, interns or graduate students who are assigned public relations, communications and marketing tasks.

      Manage workshop payment negotiations with outreach agencies and assign to budget specialist.

      Write sustainability, programming and capital grants to support the Center, its infrastructure as well as its programming and outreach initiatives and special projects.

      Lead teams of students and contractors that are performing various projects for the Center, including software designers, developers and programmers for the Center's mobile application, teleproductions and audio editing teams and graduate assistants implementing marketing and communication projects.

      Assist in the development and monitoring of student project budgets; provide supervisory leadership of all student run and student-initiated assignments.

      Support activities of outreach programs.

      Assist with policy review, coordination and implementation.

      Provide support for the Wick Poetry Center Advisory Board Chair and Advisors.

      Work regularly in collaboration with University Communications and Marketing and with public relations students assigned to cover Wick Poetry Center news and events.

      Represent the Wick Poetry Center and deliver presentations about the center programming, including outreach recruitment on campus and in the community as needed.

      Manage the Wick Poetry Park, its space and property, as well as all ongoing curatorial exhibits.

      May serve on various committees.

      Perform related duties as assigned.

      Minimum Qualifications
      Education and Experience
      Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
      Master's degree in a related field of study (MFA with poetry concentration strongly preferred) and a minimum of four years of progressively increasing responsibility in academic administration, not-for-profit administration or corporate communications, including business / project management experience.

      Knowledge Of:
      Not-for-profit organization disciplines, business processes and best practices; including grant writing and strategic planning.

      Student / staff development procedures and processes.

      Program planning / project management.

      Emerging media trends and standards.

      Skill In:
      Developing and implementing a strategic plan for the Wick Poetry Center programs with measurable outcomes.

      Demonstrated superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills ? including consultative and negotiating skills.

      Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and other applicable software including skills in HTML, web design, software programming and mobile application design and programming.

      Organizing information and projects.

      Adhering to deadlines.

      Ability To:
      Provide consultative guidance for student interns, graduate assistants and fellows.

      Provide leadership and direction.

      Analyze and develop a variety of problem solving techniques to assess needs and the ability to determine alternative viable courses of action.

      Implement student / staff training and problem solving.

      Possess considerable attention to detail and maintain a high focus with contacts.

      Multi-task while managing multiple projects and assignments to meet deadlines within budget.
