poetry position: Coe College
- Assistant Professor of English - Creative Writing/Poetry
The Coe College English Department invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Creative Writing and literature with an emphasis on poetry to begin in August 2013. We seek a poet committed to the liberal arts; ability to teach other genres is welcome. The six course per year teaching load will typically include three or four creative writing courses, two courses in literature -- twentieth-century or global literatures particularly helpful -- and a first-year seminar biennally. There is much flexibility in developing course content and the expectation of assuming a leadership role in the Creative Writing program in time. The opportunity exists to contribute to multi-disciplinary programs in American Studies, African-American Studies, Environmental Studies, Film Studies, and Gender Studies.
M.F.A. or Ph.D. in creative writing in hand by August 2013 required. Undergraduate teaching experience and publication required. Please submit a letter of application, vitae, a writing sample, a sample syllabus, and three letters of recommendations at https://secure.interfolio.com/apply/20719 by January 11, 2013.
Initial interviews will be conducted at the AWP convention in March.
