Young Harris College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of English in creative writing. The successful candidate will have earned a Ph.D. or M.F.A. in creative writing, have a solid record of publications, and be committed to teaching a 4/4 load of creative writing and composition courses in an undergraduate, liberal arts curriculum beginning August 1, 2013. In addition, candidates will be encouraged to take an active role in the development of Young Harris College's creative writing program. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have secondary expertise/training in composition and rhetoric. Creative and scholarly work in the candidate's field is encouraged and supported by the institution.
Young Harris College is a private, baccalaureate degree-granting college located in the beautiful mountains of north Georgia. Founded in 1886 and historically affiliated with The United Methodist Church, Young Harris College educates, inspires and empowers students through the highest quality liberal arts education. In 2011, the College was granted candidacy for NCAA Division II athletics. YHC is among fewer than 200 colleges and universities nationwide named to the 2012-2013 list of Colleges of Distinction.
