      The Department of English, Modern Languages, and Philosophy is accepting applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor. The department offers three degree options and serves over 120 majors.

      Qualifications: Ph.D. in English. Writing specialist with interest in creative non-fiction and business/professional writing. Experience teaching first-year writing required.

      Start Date: August 2012

      Teaching Duties: Will teach classes in creative non-fiction, business/professional writing, first-year writing.

      Professional Development: Francis Marion provides generous support for research, including conference travel. Summer research stipends are available on a competitive basis.

      The University: Francis Marion University is a state-supported regional university with a strong emphasis on the liberal arts. Located in Florence, SC, a growing city with a vibrant arts culture, FMU is within easy driving distance of beach resorts, such as Myrtle Beach, and areas of historical interest, including Charleston and Savannah.
