      POSITION:   
      The Department of English invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track
      appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with an emphasis in
      professional
      writing or creative writing. The person appointed to this position will teach
      graduate
      and undergraduate courses in professional writing or creative writing with
      possible
      additional teaching in composition and TESOL (teaching English to speakers of
      other
      languages). Other duties may include program development and direction,
      including
      developing and directing internships. Effective teaching; research,
      scholarship, and/
      or creative activity; and service to the University are required for
      retention,
      promotion, and tenure. This is an academic year appointment; however,
      additional
      Summer Session appointment is possible.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:   
      A PhD or MFA in professional writing or creative writing is required as is
      evidence of
      successful teaching.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
      An applicant’s consideration will be enhanced by evidence of: experience
      working
      with a diverse student population, expertise in TESOL and Second-Language
      Acquisition, expertise in technology/computer applications, relevant research
      and
      publication, and/or administrative experience.
