      As part of Bloom Magazine's upcoming 5th anniversary celebration, we are
      pleased to present our first-ever Very Short Fiction Contest.

      Rules:
      STORIES
      Stories must be set in south-central Indiana. All genres, except
      children's
      and young adult, are eligible. Submissions must be unpublished stories
      and
      not exceed 1,500 words. No entrant may submit more than one manuscript.
      If
      an entrant submits more than one story, all stories from ...that entrant
      will be excluded.

      WRITERS
      Writers must be 18 years old or older. Contributors to Bloom are
      ineligible.

      JUDGES
      Entries will be judged anonymously by Bloom editors, renowned author
      Scott
      Russell Sanders, and short-story writer Nadine Pinede.

      PRIZES
      The first-place winning entry will be published in the 5th anniversary
      issue
      of Bloom Magazine, and the author will receive a $100 gift certificate.
      The
      second- and third-place stories will be published in the next two
      issues of
      the magazine and those writers will be each receive a gift certificate
      for
      $50. All other entries will be considered for publication on the Bloom
      website, magbloom.com.

      Entries must be received by June 1, 2011. The entry fee is $12. Make
      checks
      payable to Bloom Magazine.

      Winners will be notified by July 31, 2011.

      Be sure to include your name on the cover sheet or email but not on the
      story manuscript. Be sure your story title is on both the cover sheet
      and
      manuscript.

      RIGHTS
      By submitting a manuscript, entrants consent to Bloom Magazine's
      acquisition
      of electronic rights and first-publication print rights to stories
      chosen
      for first, second, and third place. Bloom Magazine reserves the right to
      publish all other submissions on the Bloom website, magbloom.com, from
      August 2011 through October 2011.

      Submitting a manuscript to Bloom Magazine avers an acceptance of all
      terms
      and rules of the contest.
