      The winner of the annual Ann Arbor Book Festival Short Story Contest receives
      a cash prize ($250) and the chance to be published in Barrelhouse,

      Short Story Contest Guidelines:

      --Length of story:  up to 7000 words, double-spaced pages
      --Entry must be unpublished in any form.
      --Entries may be submitted either in hard copy or electronically.  (See
      below)
      --Author's name must not appear on entry. A cover page with complete
      identifying information is required for all submissions.

      --Electronic submissions should be sent in Microsoft Word file to
      shortstories(at)aabookfestival.org
      (replace (at) with @)

      The $10 payment for electronic submissions should be made on the Festival
      website (aabookfestival.org) on the
      Gift Shop page.

      --Hard copy submissions. Submit hard copy entries to:

        The winner of the annual Ann Arbor Book Festival Short Story Contest receives a cash prize ($250) and the chance to be published in the Barrelhouse Literary Journal(www.barrelhousemag.com).

        This year's guest judge will be Allison Amend. Entries for original short stories will be taken starting March 1, 2008, in conjunction with the 5th Annual Book Festival in Ann Arbor, MI.

        Entry fee $10.

        Deadline August 1, 2008.

        Winner will be announced October 1, 2008.
