- A River & Sound Review, an online journal of serious literature with an
unpretentious soul, seeks work for its fourth issue. We strive to
publish the best in poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and humor. We've
featured award-winning writers such as David Huddle, Peggy Shumaker,
Brian Doyle, and Derek Mong, among others.
And not only do we publish award-winning authors, we create them. On
top of general submissions, we also seek contest submissions for our
annual Duckabush Prize for Poetry (judged by Rick Barot, author of
Want) and Nisqually Prize for Fiction (judged by Pia Ehrhardt, author
of Famous Fathers and Other Stories). The winner in each category will
receive $500, publication in our journal, and a chance to be featured
in a future RSR LIVE! (our live literary arts entertainment program)
podcast. That's right fortune AND fame. Plus we nominate for the
Pushcart as well as numerous "best of" anthologies for online journals.
Submissions, general and contest, will be accepted until November 30th.
Stop by our website for detailed submission information, check out some
fine literature, and make fun of the staff photos...or maybe just the
poetry editors - those guys are goofy. www.riverandsoundreview.org.
Thank you, and we look forward to reading your best work.
