      1. WCCW Award - Rhymed Poetry, any subject - 60 lines maximum.  Sponsored by
      White County Creative Writers 
       
      2.  Seeing Double - Short story with an alternate ending (required), any
      genre, proper manuscript format, 2000 words maximum.  Sponsored by Fiction Writers
      of Central Arkansas
       
      3.  President's Choice - Essay on Patriotism, 1500 words maximum.  Sponsored
      by Winford Wallace.
       
      4.  Humor Award - 2500 word humorous essay or story, SUBJECT: "That's the
      most ridiculous thing I ever heard".  Sponsored by RobertsFamilyArk

      5.  Free Award - Free verse poem on the subject of "Free", 60 lines maximum. 
      Sponsored by Glassworks Ink.
       
      6.  Tell Me a Story - Short story, any subject, 2500 word maximum.  Sponsored
      by Jean Gipson.
       
      7.  Storyteller Award - Ghost story, fiction or non-fiction, 3000 words
      maximum, setting must play an important rold.  Sponsored by Storyteller Magazine.
       
      8.  Tumbleweed Award - Western Novel - 3 chapters plus synopsis plus query
      letter.  Sponsored by Dusty Richards.
       
      9. Concrete Poetry Award - a poem in the shape of the subject (ex. Love=a
      heart shaped poem, pets=a dog or cat shaped poem, etc.) rhymed or unrhymed, 40
      lines maximum.  Sponsored by Pat Laster.
       
      10.  Just for Kids - Story for children/youth (state what age group written
      for),  1500 word maximum.  Sponsored by Central Arkansas Writers.

      11.  Searcy Living Award - Essay on how pets influence our lives, 600 words
      maximum.  Sponsored by Searcy Living Magazine.
       
      12.  Family Matters Award - Essay on a person in your family who has been
      significant to you,  2000 word maximum.  Sponsored by Debra Middleton.
       

      13.  Paranormal Romance - Short fiction (no witchcraft, occult, or devil
      worship), 2000 words maximum.  Sponsored by Ellen Wither


      Contest Regulations -
      1. Registration to attend conference does not include contest fees.  Contest
      fees of $5 for first entry and $3 for each entry thereafter must be mailed on
      or before July 25, 2007.  Make check payable to White County Creative
      Writers.  No fees returned.
       
      2. Deadline for postmarking contest entries is July 25, 2007.  WCCW is not
      responsible for manuscripts lost, delayed, or received too late for judging.  Do
      not send SASE; no entries will be returned.  Entries will be destroyed two
      weeks after conference.
       
      3. Only one typed, unpublished manuscript may be entered in each contest. 
      Double-space prose; double- or single-space poetry.  Use standard manuscript

      4. No entry may be entered in more than one contest.  No one may enter the
      contest for which he or she serves as sponsor, chairman, or judge.  An entry
      that won first place last year may not be entered in the same contest if this
      year's contest is identical to last year's.
       
      5. Put contest number and name of award in upper left corner of each entry. 
      Do not put your name on the manuscript.  Attach a cover sheet to each
      manuscript with (a) number and name of contest, (b) title of entry, (c) first line of
      entry, (d) your name, mailing address, and phone number.
       
      6. Mail all contest entries and contest fees to Rhonda Roberts, 620 Morris
      School Road, Searcy, AR 72143 .  Winners not attending will be notified by mail
      the week after conference.
       
      7. Prizes will be as follows: 1st place - $25; 2nd place - $15; 3rd place -
      $10.  Certificates will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Honorable Mention.  Number
      of prizes awarded for each contest will be determined by judges.
