The Petree College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an assistant professor of writing for a tenure-track position. This faculty position will teach first-year composition and help enrich our undergraduate and graduate programs in creative writing within a department and institution deeply committed to community outreach and arts-integration. A Ph.D. in composition and rhetoric (or a related field), with an MFA or specialization in Creative writing is required. MFA will be considered with a strong pedagogical record. Preferred candidates will be successful and enthusiastic teachers with experience and scholarly interest in one or more of the following areas: fiction-writing, journal- or magazine-editing, community-engaged writing programs. Interest in and ability to teach abroad from time to time on OCU's Singapore campus will be a plus. The successful candidate is expected to participate in the department's assessment program, and in student recruiting and retention efforts for the department and university. Effective teaching, scholarship, and service are required for promotion and tenure.
