      New Mexico State University. Assistant Professor of Creative Writing: Fiction. Qualifications: MFA or PhD in Creative Writing or English & teaching experience required; at least one full-length book of fiction published or under contract required. Additional desirable areas of experience include: nonfiction writing, literary journal editing, or community outreach. Ability to teach undergraduate & graduate courses & serve on MFA thesis committees; all requirements for MFA or PhD completed by date of hire. The Department of English offers the BA in English (with emphases in Creative Writing, Literature, & Rhetoric), the MA in English (with emphases in Creative Writing, Literature, Rhetoric & Professional Communication, & Teaching English Studies), the MFA in Creative Writing, & the PhD in Rhetoric & Professional Communication. All tenure-track faculty contribute to the undergraduate general education program through courses in literature & writing.
