Frances Gonzalez at ACS
Frances Gonzalez is going to be serving at ACS as an interim to the interim -- she will fill in the vacancy created by Sam's retirement until either an interim director can be found, or a permanent is found. They are pursuing the items on the Bias report as best they can with the staff. They have not yet fully assessed the Fakkema report.
Pat DiGiovanni said they have some good candidates lined up for the permanent, so it is possible that position could be filled sooner than later. He verified that they are looking for someone that has a progressive philosophy toward animal control, with an ultimate goal being No Kill. They are also actively searching for a shelter mgr, and a vet, and some more vet techs. They are considering contractual vet services.
He also said he is willing to work with the animal advocate world to create a better flow of communication. He needs to have less flak from the community, and more unity and cooperation.
How can we help create this, so that all our needs, and the needs of the animals, are served? Please forward ideas to the CPR discussion board (firstname.lastname@example.org)
