Help A Stranger. Be Part of the Movement.

WHAT: Join the Unite Foundation and Step-Up as they celebrate World AIDS Day with Togo Rocks, an event supporting Camp UNITE, a West African Summer Camp dedicated to helping the Togolese youth. Increase your awareness on AIDS and learn more about Camp UNITE while enjoying performances from local artist Jascha, Lovely Houses and Cliff Ritchey.

The event is free and open to the public. However, a donation of up to $5 dollars is strongly encouraged, but not required. All proceeds will be donated to the UNITE Foundation to help support Camp UNITE.

      WHEN: 8-11 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008

WHERE: The Earth House Coffee and Books

                  237 N. East St.

                  Indianapolis

DETAILS: Inspired by the power of Camp UNITE to transform the lives of Togolese campers, four former Peace Corps Volunteers and organizers of the camp met in 2008 to create the UNITE Foundation. The UNITE Foundation is dedicated to providing West African youth with the knowledge and skills needed to lead healthy, productive lives so they can have a positive impact in their nation's development. While Camp UNITE has been successful, it still suffers from the shortage of funds and each year faces the potential of being shut down.

The organization is also committed to sharing the world of West Africa with American youth. The UNITE Foundation believes that by engaging American adolescents in African culture and development, they can encourage them to also become agents of change in the future.
