Fw: 2012 Blue and Gray Cotillion Final Plea!!
- If you haven't gone to this event, this might be a good year to try it. It's open to anybody. The 2nd Cavalry does a very nice job of putting on this dinner/dance. It's a very nice dinner, a little ceremony honoring vets-yesterday's and as well as today's. A Victorian Dance with a caller and not very hard moves-anyone can do it, and a cute lyceum at the break-just good ol' down home homemade fun. A really nice date night and a chance to wear your Civil War finery. If you haven't ordered your tickets, NOW is the time to do so. Download the flyer and send it in!Shelley Peters

Subject: 2012 Blue and Gray Cotillion Final Plea!!Hello everyone,The Blue and Gray cotillion is a little over a month away and we find ourselves very short on ticket sales. We have a minimum we need to sell and we just aren’t there yet. The 2nd Cavalry makes no money on this event but we have managed to break even every year. We do it because it is a lovely event and we all get a chance to dress up and have some fun. I hope you have enjoyed coming in past years and decide to come again this year. If you have already purchased tickets, maybe you know someone else you can forward this to? We have the best string group (the Occasional Strings) and the best caller around (Tom Atkins). There will be many raffle items as in past years and a photographer to take your image for remembrance. The dance is on Saturday June 16th at the Yorba Linda Country Club. It includes a wonderful dinner, program and dancing. We have a short lyceum with a continuing storyline sure to bring a smile to your face! This will be the last email you will receive about this event. We have to make a decision to cancel in the next week and we hope we don’t have to do that. We have done this event for 8 years and hope to continue to do it for many more years to come.Thank you for your consideration.JoAnne PowellTreasurer2nd U.S. Cavalry
