      1) Stop time 5 minute games. (Time clock is stopped after goals, pucks
out of play, dead spot puck stops, goalie freezes. Time clock is
started upon every faceoff conducted to resume the game.)

      2) Most FACEOFFS are done in centre circle with both players saying
"ready" & then ref saying GO! (Placed puck on centre dot.) Both
centremens' white player peg bases must be positioned outside the
centre circle with their hockey sticks pointing towards their own net
for all faceoffs. CENTRE ICE FACEOFFS start a game, follow all goals
scored, replace a puck that flies out of play, resume play after a
goalie freeze, or follow any 5 second/3 second time infractions.
Faceoffs are also conducted in the CORNER CIRCLES when "dead spot"
stoppage occurs. (Faceoff to be done in the corner circle from where
the puck arrived into the dead spot behind the goal.) CORNER CIRCLE
FACEOFFS are conducted with D-man's player peg base just outside the
circle, at the edge of the goalie crease, & the winger's player peg
base outside the corner circle close to the blueline. D-man & winger
stick blades pointing towards the "placed" puck in the middle of the
corner circle used for the faceoff. Corner circle faceoffs are done
with both players saying "ready" & then the referee saying GO!

      3) 5 second rule to see the puck passed or shot from one player figure
to another during a game. (Winger to winger passes, around the end
boards, do not constitute a new 5 second count.)

      4) 3 second rule to see the puck moved.

      5) D-men are not allowed to stay in the goalie creases for more than 1
      second.

      6) Goals only count if the puck stays in the net or sits on top of the
goalie controller. (Completely over the goal line.)

      7) Goalie can "FREEZE" the puck if the puck is behind him & has been
stationary for a minimum of 2 seconds. The player controlling the
goalie must say "FREEZE" to stop time and resume game with a faceoff
      at centre ice.

      8) Time is stopped as soon as puck becomes unplayable behind either
net, regardless of how it gets there. (Corner circle faceoff resumes
      game.)

      9) Play is stopped, immediately, if a goalie is broken or becomes
      unfunctional during game play.

      10) If a player flat falls off a peg then the player, who controls the
fallen player flat, cannot replace the player flat until he has
possession of the puck. (Time is stopped and play resumes with a
faceoff at centre ice after repair is made.)

The Pacific Coliseum is giving 6,000 to 9,000 fans of the
WHL Giants terrific hockey entertainment at an affordable
price for parents to take there kids. You've got a classic
Seals Jersey as well! Some cool pictures of your Munroe
games as well. I'll be looking for some opponents to play
this game now. Just casual play at home to start. Maybe
other players, in Vancouver, will want to buy a game from
Martin or offer up an original Coleco 5380 home ice venue
to create a small league of players with home ice to offer
opponents and to be a part of a season schedule. For now,
though, I'll just play Canucks home games for the forseeable
future and may venture out East for a tournie or two down the
road a bit. Been practising some passing/shooting plays
lately. It's a very good game to play. I'll be documenting
the first ever game played, with these official rules in use,
soon too. I beat my brother in a game up to 2 the other day but
the rules were not explained and he isn't at all practised in
table hockey. He did score a goal to tie it at 1-1 though.
(Against the flow of the play.) Then I hit a RW to C high pass
and shoot to the left corner (goalies right side) for the
clinching goal. I had a couple of in and outs as well. He
isn't much for table hockey, either, but he admired the games
beauty and obvious retro styling too. Dave, I'm sure we'll
meet up sometime and compete agaisnt each other too.

            Hi Dom,
2 things...If I pass by Vancouver on April 19, can you meet me at
the airport between 11AM and 3PM approx to play TH? I may catch a
flight that connects in YVR if you say it is possible. Objective:
Add YVR Airport Parking lot to the list of airports that have seen
Coleco Classic Stanley Cups. LAX and LGB (Long Beach) have seen such
action. This would be the first for a Martin Labelle game.

Also, since you place to use all the faceoff dots AND have a referee
dropping the puck, you might consider having the post FREEZE face
off in the defensive zone. After all, this is referee losing sight
of the puck when the goalie falls on top of the puck.

Anyway let me know about the possibility of airport TH on the 19th.

The referee would time keep the games, say "GO" for
faceoffs and also would be the authority to add lost
time, due to 3 second/5 second rule infractions, to
the game clock before the next faceoff. (These
infractions can be called at any time the referee sees
it fit and he blows the play dead before adding the
time back to the time clock.) Also, if there is no
ref, on hand, the faceoffs can still be conducted by
both players saying "ready" then one of the players
saying "GO" with the intent of a faceoff being as fair
as possible. A stop watch is easy to operate for a
player as well. As for faceoffs after goalie freezes
it would be tough, at times to remember where the
shot on goal originated from or from what side of the
playing surface it originated from. To say faceoff at
centre ice removes any difficulties in deciding which
corner to do the faceoff from. The idea being to
remove any guessing from these kinds of decisions.
Also dead spot corner circle faceoff location is when
a player has gained the zone but the puck becomes out
of reach. The player who has gained the zone should
be allowed to try and maintain the zone with a faceoff
that is easy to determine what side of the playing
surface the puck arrived from. Not only is it tough
for the defending player to get the puck out but the
ability to forcheck, on these games, says that the
faceoff should stay in the zone. As for April 19th.
it would be great to do this. But it is a Wednesday
work day for me. My car is off the road until summer
but a cab is not beyond the realm of possibilites. I
could skip work,(uhhhh I don't feel so good) if I had
to and load this game in the trunk of the cab. Cab
fare is about $50 to get there and back too. Maybe I
should put this out to a CCTHF poll? Should I meet AJ
at VAncouver International Airport on Wednesday April
19th to record the playing of the first official game
in the Coleco Pacific Coliseum? AJ can you confirm an
exact time for this. Flights are usually within 5 or
10 minutes of arrival time. We could also enjoy a
nice Starbucks coffee and talk TH, Coleco 5380 style

Go for it Dom. Both Ajit & Rob came over to my house in MTL for some 5380 action this past summer. We had a little unofficial Tournament with also Martin, Burt, Denis Begin & Pierre. Guess who was the winner of that day?

All that to say he is a great person and a true table top hockey lover. You will both have a great time, 5380 style!!!! We only live once man! So if it is possible
                don't miss it

I will have to say that the winner of the day was YOU! How did Ajit
do on the day? Is he a great player. I know he's played Coleco for
many years. I think I will be up agaianst a very tough opponent to
officially begin Coleco Pacific Coliseum hockey history. My table
hockey home ice as it were! I'll keep track of my all time record
too! I'd rather lose to a good player than whoop a bad player to kick
off the festivities on this game. I'll try my best to be at the
airport if AJ can indeed work out flight arrangements to stop over
here for a few hours. I'd like a scouting report on AJ as well please!

From what I can tell, you're the Rocket Richard of
Coleco 5380 table hockey! Great picture with you,
the Habs jersey, the trophies and your Labelle
Montreal Forum game! If there's a Coleco Table Hockey
Hall of Fame, somewhere on the map, then that picture
of you should be in it! From what I can tell you're
the Coleco 5380 standard that all other players strive
to surpass. I'm sure Martin, your brother, Burt and
others are all looking to get to that place! When
you're number one everyone is gunning for you. It can
be tough. Enjoy the top of the mountain. It's a
place where the scenery is seen by very few no matter
what the game is. AJ is going to run into a fiesty
and inexperienced Canuck if he makes it to Vancouver
                      International Airport.

Gino, Angelo, Martin, Burt, Junior, Dave, Greg & many others are extremly great, great players and it will be very hard to maintain top position on the 5380 board. Hope your day with Ajit happens.

From what I can tell,  you're the Rocket Richard of
Coleco 5380 table hockey!  Great picture with you,
the Habs jersey,  the trophies and your Labelle
Montreal Forum game!  If there's a Coleco Table Hockey
Hall of Fame, somewhere on the map, then that picture
of you should be in it!  From what I can tell you're
the Coleco 5380 standard that all other players strive
to surpass.  I'm sure Martin, your brother, Burt and
others are all looking to get to that place!  When
you're number one everyone is gunning for you.  It can
be tough.  Enjoy the top of the monutain.  It's a
place where the scenery is seen by very few no matter
what the game is.  AJ is going to run into a fiesty
and inexperienced Canuck if he makes it to Vancouver
                        International.

Gino, have you ever played Lou Marinoff? Also do you
know much of where he's at, as a player, these days.
You should try to stage an exhibition playoff series
with him. (Maybe a best of seven with some
                          videography,
print and radio media coverage.) Be cool to see some
positive exposure for the game. Bridging the
seventies with today with players that are of both
time periods would be a Coleco retro and nostalgic
thing to do. Lou Marinoff may still be a powerhouse
on the 5380. I bet he'd really like the Labelle games
too. Also, look at Steve Bernstein on Stiga today. He
won the Gatineau Challenge and he's got to be close to
or in his 50's by now! Maybe Steve was in the finals
                          of the F1BC too!

You mean Carlo :-)  Yes I have tried to contact him in the past  (Lou Marinoff) and I few times he had the kindness to anwser. Unfortunatly with no success to bring him to Quebec, Montreal or even Sherbrooke :-(

I send some info his way again for this year's Quebec open but with no success. I have heard nothing back.

He had told me he had some interest in buying a Labelle's game but I never heard anything from him since.

The only one that could probably reach him would be MR Ron Chesick? Even there I am not sure. Would be amazing though. One can dream :-) Peace

                                  Dear Dom,
You asked? When I played in MTL against the boys, I got my ***
whupped. It was a humbling experience. However, on the +ve side:

                                  1) They were on home ice, home puck. home boards (whine, whine!)
                                  2) I got meet a great bunch of people
                                  3) I say a some incredible plays on THE GAME (5380 S-slot)

I lost in the playoffs to Martin (fittingly). And earlier 1 goal
losses were decided by winning goals on bank (carom) shots which
whould be disallowed in my rules. But, I am not making excuses.

Bottom line, Carlo and Denis, Pierre, Burt, and Martin, are tough to
beat on any surface, any rules, any puck, any game. Best of all,
they were fun to be with and great sportsmen.

But wait until I get them on my home ice, and they have jet lag!

Thanks for updating me on YVR, I realize it is tough to take a break
during the day...sometimes I have connected in LAX for 2 hours which
was enough time to go to the parking lot, play a 7 game Stanley Cup
and continue on my flight...Aaaahhh, those were the days...

AJ these guys are the top dogs of Eastern Coleco 5380! If you're
losing by one goal and bank shots are the difference then you have to
be a good player. I'm going to have my hands full if we meet up at
YVR! I see it as a test for this new Coleco 5380 Hockey club, making
it's debut on home ice and anyhere for that matter, in a game with
defined rules to play with. Training camp 1970 is almost over. The
exhibition season begins with games against the A.J. LA KINGS! The
Canucks better beat LA tonight or they're up $%#* creek!

P.S. I have ordered a set of rods from Gord Warren for back up. I
will need a little advice on how to cut and smooth the winger/ d men
rods down to correct size. I don't expect to have to replace rods for
a good long wihile but when I do I want the extras to be ready to go
on a moments notice. Canucks 0 Los Angeles 0 in thew 1st period.

                                        Los Angeles..1

It really is starting to feel like 1970! Ed Jovonovski & Sami Salo
hurt. Big line of Naslund, Bertuzzi and Morrison has fallen off by
about 20 points per player this year. All big minus rating players.
Canucks have a great second line in Sedin, Sedin and Carter. I say
make Ed Jovonovski team captain next season. (Be sure to sign him to a
two year deal of $5 million with performance based incentives that
could hit $6 million.) Move Bertuzzi to Toronto for a second round
draft pick. ($$$$ saved). Bert owns a home in Ontario and he needs a
change of scenery. Stan Smyl to be the next head coach. (Coach
Crawford a good coach but after 7 years is past due for a new coaching
job in a new market. He still has two years to go on his contract at 2
million per but we sell out the building every game and the team can
afford to swallow this bullet to bring in a new coach.) Trevor Linden
an assistant coach (retirement from playing this summer.) Jack
Mcllhargey to stay on as blueline coach. Salo, Allen, Jovonovski,
Bieksa, Brown, Bourdon (rookie), Brookbank extra body) on the
blueline. (Good by Carney & Weinrich.) Markus Naslund, with two new
linemates, on the top line. (Free agency signings. Players with more
size and faceoff skills.) Sedin, Sedin and Carter to be the NHL's
most potent second line. Move Richard Park to another team. Too small
and unable to score constistently. Matt Cooke, Jarko Ruutu and Ryan
Kesler on the third line. Josh Green, Brendan Morrison and a new
signing or Manitoba promotion to fill in the shoes of #16 on the
fourth line. Alex Auld number one goalie but Dan Cloutier pencilled
in at number two with the intention to try and unseed Alex as the
number one goalie. (Good tough goalie competition to push both
goalies to get better but Alex Auld being the more durable and younger
and statistically superior guy getting the nod as number one to begin
the 2006-07 season. This team is still close to greatness but the top
line is now a second line at best. Injuries, to key powerplay guys
and a coach who has probably lost the game in and game out focus of
his players frequently due to 7 years as a coach for one team says
that what I have written is what this team needs to do! There not out
yet but it's not looking good for this Canucks fan for this season.
Love this game! Canucks make life great in VAncouver win or lose! Go
                                        Canadian teams go!

AAAHH! Don't you dare suggest flogging that Bertuzzi
goon on the Leafs! Bad enough (as a Leafs fan) I have
to put up with Lindros being on the team! Worse still
that they depend so much on old players (read: no good
                                          since the new rules)!

I, as a Leafs fan, want nothing to do with a goon who
can only attack from behind, instead of face-to-face!

But anyway, how's life, Dom? ;)

though. As for Bertuzzi? I can understand your point
of view. I hope he isn't the NHL's biggest waste of
talent. He could potentially be a terrific boost of
offense but the Steve Moore incident is forever going
to be chained to his image and never forgotten by
                                            most.
Amazing how a split second can change everything!
