Group Description

This is a comfy place with the most extensive and regularly updated carcinoid info you can find. We'll try to keep you informed of any and all things related to carcinoid along with all other Gnets We are wanting to close the Inet list and roll everyone into this group. Look for ADMIN msg.

This is NOT a support group but an information list . . . Many support e-lists exist. Please Google for Carcinoid Support Groups.

Before joining this list, go to www.carcinoid.org's FAQs and read them carefully. (http://www.carcinoid.org/ ) You will find they will answer 90%+ of your questions. This site is the most encyclopedic source on the internet. Always check the FAQs before asking a question.

The CARCINOID-Y group is a moderated discussion list for patients and/or their immediate family, medical researchers and physicians, to discuss clinical, nonclinical issues and advances pertaining to Carcinoid Cancer. These include patient experiences, hormone induced psychological issues, new research, clinical trials, and discussions of current treatment practices.

Undiagnosed patients are asked NOT to post to this list until they have been diagnosed by tissue sample/pathology beyond a reasonable doubt. A bio of your medical information and your story from symptoms to diagnosis should be submitted to the list within 24 hours of joining. Once it is accepted you will be able to post to the list.

Be conscious of the limited time medical professionals can spend online. Before you email a carcinoid medical professional with your questions, review the FAQs. Specialists are a scarce resource and we need to be respectful of the time they spend with the entire group.

For Islet Cell and other pancreatic NET's email ”NET_IsletCell-subscribe@yahoogroups.com" to join.

This list is for productive and non productive Carcinoid tumors primarily but other GI NETs are allowed.

The list owner is Ellen Reed (cereed@telusplanet.net), an 18-yr survivor of this disease.
