RFP for Oiled Wildlife Research
- The Oiled Wildlife Care Network (OWCN), a collaborative program between the CA Department of Fish and Game Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR) and the Wildlife Health Center at the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, is currently seeking research proposals from wildlife professionals interested in furthering OWCN goals for the 2011 2012 funding period. In particular, proposals investigating the direct and indirect effects of oil on wildlife, baseline biomedical studies and improvements to oiled rehabilitation techniques are strongly encouraged.
A maximum of $250,000 is available for proposals and projects may be multi-year in nature; however, annual application, provision of complete and timely progress reports, and competitive review are required. For projects requesting $10,000 or less for a single year, the pre-proposal will suffice as the complete application. For investigators requesting greater than $10,000 or for multiple years of support, should the pre-proposal be favorably reviewed, a full proposal will be required.
Parties interested in seeking funding should submit a pre-proposal to the Wildlife Health Center by post or e-mail no later than 5:00 pm (PST) on 6 May 2011 (Pre-Proposals) or 29 July 2011 (Small Grant Proposals) (Note: this is not a postmark deadline). Late pre-proposals, or pre-proposals not adhering to this format, will not be reviewed.
