      Howdy, Birders,

Some San Benito County birding highlights this afternoon today included:

      Lover's Lane:
WHITE-FACED IBIS- 1 in the same area as the grackles. Not an easy
bird to see in this county.
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE- today's count of at least 21 birds is an all
time record high count for the county. There may be as many as 30,
      though.
These birds, along with a few waders and ducks are near the house
with the dinosaurs on the front lawn. You can't miss them!

      San Felipe Lake:
      REDHEAD- 2, male & female
BALD EAGLE- 2, male & female. No nest apparent. Maybe they are just
getting married this year. They sure are feasting on the waterfowl!
      PEREGRINE FALCON- 1
      WHITE PELICAN- 7
      WHIMBREL- 1
      ROSS'S GOOSE- 8
      CACKLING GOOSE- 3
      SNOW GOOSE- 4
      GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE- 28
      GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE- 2, male & female
      GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULL- 2, in a flock of 300+ gulls
      TREE SWALLOW- 100+
      VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW- 8
Along with many other birds! Be very, very careful if stopping at the
Highway 152 call box. (I do not do this on weekends)

      San Felipe Lake (willow trees)
      GREEN HERON-1
      BROWN CREEPER-1

      Frazier Lake Road
      SHORT-EARED OWL- 1 at 6:10 pm.

      In Santa Clare County:
Bloomfield Road now has 9 TUNDRA SWANS.

      Happy Trails,
      Debi
