      Howdy Birders,

Some highlights from a couple hours of birding today in San Benito
      County:

      Paicines Reservoir:
The water is now higher than it has been all year. Water flow is
completely controlled by the county. Best birds were 2 ROSS' GEESE at
the far end of the reservoir, and a COMMON YELLOWTHROAT from the
pullout parking area. Much of the waterfowl has left. Some folks who
were heading out to Panoche Valley spotted 3 coyotes.

      Santa Ana Valley Road:
Two FERRUGINOUS HAWKS, were present. One was on the telephone pole
and one hunting in the fields. Both were near the intersection with
      Quien Sabe Road.
EASTERN PHOEBE is still present at mile marker 3.06 on the ag fence,
      this time.

      Vista Park Hill:
BULLOCK'S ORIOLE- one was present in the eucalyptus trees. This is
the first winter record of Bullock's Oriole in the county that I know
      of.
      RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER- still present.

      Happy Trails,
      Debi
