      A word of warning, the labels for the plates in the pdf version of the Veit and Larsson (1987) stint article (at http://elibrary.unm.edu/sora/NAB/v041n02/p00213-p00236.pdf ) are off by a page.

      Plate 1 is described at the top of page 218 but the plate is on page 219. Plate 2 is described on the top of page 220, but the plate is on page 221-- and so on.

      And then there's Figure 17, which says juv Red-necked Stint but doesn't look anything like the plate. It may be a mis-labled Semipalmated Sandpiper.
