      Birders,

On Friday January 9 John Sterling and Matt Brady found a White-eyed
Vireo in Imperial County at Picacho State Recreation Area along the
Colorado River, north of Winterhaven. Today, Sunday, January 11th my
husband, Jim Lomax, John Luther and Gjon Hazard refound the Vireo and
observed it off and on for approximately two hours in the same area.
Gjon camped in the area and also saw it on Saturday.

The "area" is a group of cottonwood trees located on the west side of
the road leading to the boat ramp. This stand of trees is
approximately two hundred feet back from the actual boat ramp itself.

The bird was actively foraging in the trees and was first spotted at
6:45 a.m. and last seen at 9:00 a.m. when they left. The bird never
      called.

      Sheree Lomax
      Concord, CA
